Description:
The CDSU is an inpatient program within the Mental Health and Addictions unit at Brockville General Hospital. The CDSU is a short-term program (2 weeks) which includes medical withdrawal management of substances (as needed), psychiatric and medical assessment and treatment (as needed), therapeutic programming related to mental health and substance use disorders.

Criteria:
Client must have an identified concurrent disorders which includes a substance use disorder.
Client must enter the program voluntarily and identify personal goals related to their substance use and mental health
Client must be 18+ years of age
Client must not have a severe or profound intellectual disability or major neurocognitive disorder
The individual does not require a confirmed diagnosis of either a mental health or substance use disorder; however, they must identify symptoms of both mental health and substance use concerns (ie. anxiety/depression symptoms and chaotic substance use).
The program does not treat other forms of addiction, such as behavioral addiction.
