Child Care Program
Full-day or part-day child day care program. Includes after-school care for school aged children.
Chronic Disease Management Clinic
Individual clinical guidance for people diagnosed with a specific chronic disease such as arthritis, congestive heart failure, or diabetes. Requires clinical referral.
Drop-In Centre
A friendly environment where people can go to obtain food and other services. Does not provide temporary residence.
Employment Counselling
Assistance with a plan of action to achieve individual career and employment goals.
Employment Resource Centre
A site where resources are available to assist with job search needs. May include computer and internet access, job postings, telephones, and labour market information.
Fitness Group
Exercise sessions where participants develop physical fitness and/or skills within a defined sport. May be either beginners or advanced.
Food Bank
A place where stocks of food, typically basic provisions and non-perishable items, are supplied free of charge to people in need.

Health Education Classes
Provides education to participants to make choices that may improve wellness or reduce risks of disease. May focus on specific diseases or specific lifestyle issues (e.g. healthy eating).

Guidance or advice aimed at better managing a challenging situation or to resolve personal problems. Includes mental health and addictions counselling.

Pain Management Clinic
Medical and other treatment aimed at relieving long term pain, such as painkilling drugs; injections; hypnotherapy and acupuncture. Requires medical referral.
Primary Care Practice
A service that is the first point of entry and the continuing focal point for all needed health services. Usually led by a physician or nurse practitioner. Delivers preventative care and health education, management of chronic conditions, end-of-life care and refers to specialists.
Social Activity
Social programs that help keep people engaged with their friends or community. Activities are usually 1-3 hours and are often recreational. Programs may be offered virtually.
